Emerson in Manchester has a long history of supporting Apprenticeships as well as working with STEGTA.  Many of our former Apprentices have successfully progressed to key and senior management positions within the business, so we recognise how Apprenticeships help with retention as well as developing key skills.  This is important to us as we produce engineered to order safety valves which requires a skilled and knowledgeable workforce.

The Apprenticeship route allows us to tailor training and working with STEGTA’s Training Officers we have been able to identify the appropriate Apprenticeship standard and even down to individual units to suit our business.


Our current Apprentices are a combination of existing employees being upskilled and those we have hired in directly utilising STEGTA’s complimentary recruitment service.  Where we have used the recruitment service, this has taken much of the work away by STEGTA providing us with screened, briefed and engaged candidates for us to then select from.
