“After completing my Level 3 BTEC in Engineering at college I decided to pursue an apprenticeship within the industry to continue developing my skills and knowledge while in a working environment. Fresenius Kabi provided me with the opportunity where I could do this and also technically train on a wide range of infusion and feeding pumps used across many hospitals in the UK.

I really enjoyed completing the different qualifications and the different challenges they each provided, one of the main highlights was the practical PEO units that I completed at The STEGTA Training Centre.

While completing my apprenticeship, both Fresenius Kabi and STEGTA provided a great support system that allowed me to grow and develop within my job role and were always prepared to provide guidance on my academic studies from start to finish.

My STEGTA Training Officer, Dave Smith, provided brilliant knowledge and experience into apprenticeships and ensured I was always on track with my work going from the Level 2 PEO to the Level 4 HNC and was always available when required.

Rob Cully (Fresenius Kabi Training Manager), has supported myself from my first day at the company and guided me through both my work based and academic qualifications always willing to go the extra mile to support me.

Upon completing my Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship, I received a promotion from my existing role to the Enteral Nutrition Section leader, Technical Services UK. Within my role I am now responsible for the service and repair of over 15,000 feeding pumps across the UK and Ireland and also managing a team of engineers daily. This has been a great opportunity for me to continue to grow within the organisation as well as being involved with and leading various company projects and off-site service visits.

I have had a great start to my career at Fresenius Kabi and I am excited for the future within the organisation. Thank you to everyone at both STEGTA and Fresenius for their continued support and commitment.”
