We would like to Congratulate Michael Kellock who is employed by Budenberg Gauge Company Ltd in Irlam, as he has been awarded the STEGTA Excellence Award for Outstanding Performance in Functional Skills. Pictured on the right is Donald McGeorge who is the Internal Sales Manager at Budenberg and STEGTA Training Officer Stuart Priestley on the left.

We asked Michael how he felt about winning the award:

“I would like to thank Rachel Alves and Stuart Priestley at STEGTA for their constant help and support throughout the Functional Skills process. They both made me feel at ease and have a great way of guiding you through the training. It was a shock to win an award, but great to have recognition for my efforts with this award”.

Michael’s Functional Skills Trainer Rachel Alves said “Mike demonstrated a very positive and determined and mature attitude towards gaining his Functional Skills in all 3 subjects – Maths, English & ICT during his time with me. Over the course of the sessions, Mike showed a high level of commitment and ownership for his own learning and development, making use of all the resources available, and spending a considerable amount of time practicing and learning in his own time.
Mikes work, communication and effort throughout were excellent and he was a pleasure to work with. Passes in all subjects fully deserved”.
