Aidan Allinson – Case Study

Structural Engineer – Roscoe Development Management

My journey into the Construction & Engineering world began when I was 16 years old and I started an Apprenticeship with STEGTA. Ten years later, I am reflecting on what has been a very exciting and enjoyable career so far.

As an Apprentice, I gained valuable knowledge and experience in the workplace, learning from industry professionals and working on many high-profile projects, which alongside my college studies opened up many more exciting educational and professional opportunities. My Apprenticeship paved the way for me to become a confident and competent Structural Technician and since then I have gained a Civil Engineering Degree which enables me to fulfil my current role as a Structural Engineer.

At Roscoe, we recognise the importance of on-the-job training and knowledge sharing and our recent decision to hire Hayden as an Apprentice has already brought huge benefits. Hayden is gaining valuable experience through his work on live construction projects, whilst progressing his qualifications with STEGTA and Salford City College at the same time. This hands-on mentoring in the workplace, alongside the structured support from his Training Officer, will enable Hayden to develop the skills and knowledge he needs to become a well-rounded Technician. In just six months we have seen outstanding progress in Hayden’s abilities and his contributions to projects has been extremely valuable to the business. Upon completion of his Level 3 Civil Engineering Technician Apprenticeship, Hayden will have many opportunities to further expand his capabilities by taking leading roles in projects and studying for further qualifications.
