Wilde Consultants Ltd – Case Study

Richard Bray – Director

Wilde Consultants Ltd recognise the importance of promoting new opportunities for careers within the Civil Engineering and the positive impact this has towards addressing the skill shortage within our profession.

We have continually recruited apprentices over the last 30 years. Many of our Apprentices remain employed with the company on a long term basis and have progressed further to complete Degree level studies and professional qualifications within Civil Engineering. Some of our Apprentices have also progressed into our team of directors and senior management.

All our original Level 3 Apprentices are now either working towards their Level 6 Degree apprenticeship or professional qualifications. They have developed their skills to provide essential support to our clients and the Civil Engineering design projects that we deliver.

The Training Officers provided by STEGTA provide a valuable and independent source of support for each Apprentice, alongside their mentors, colleagues and college tutors.  We have also utilised STEGTA’s complimentary recruitment service to support us with bringing new Apprentices into the business.

If you are an employer considering an Apprentice for your company, we would certainly recommend it. Training new engineers and technicians is essential for the future of our profession. Sharing our own knowledge and skills with the next generation is beneficial for both the Apprentice and the growth of your organisation.
